So this is really it...I am leaving for Ghana in less than 9 hours. It is starting to feel incredibly real and I am starting to get nervous. I am excited, but right now my nerves are starting to get the best of me. It is a terrifying reality that I am going to Africa. Last night, my family celebrated Mother's Day and my voyage with dinner. My dad made wonderful surf and turf and we had red velvet cake. It was delicious and a great send off. Sitting around the bonfire, I started to realize how different the beginning of my summer will be than my usual summer. My usual summer includes catching up on sleep and catching up on television I have missed before work starts. This summer is going to be completely different. I am going to enjoy my last few hours in the US as I slowly turn the mess that was my room into nicely packed bags. Goodbye America and Akwaaba Ghana!
